This is from a series of work that I did while trying to find a diagnosis for what was causing all of my strange and painful ailments. During this time I had become preoccupied with Celtic art, particularly Celtic knot work. I also have a passion for trees my favorite being the oak tree. This seemed to be a suitable choice as the oak symbolizes strength and I was feeling as though I needed some strength at the time. The series was about seasonal changes and life cycles. I felt as though I had been having my own series of life and deaths happening as I sought answers to my mysterious illness. While working on the series of work I had a skin biopsy of one of the troubling lesions with the results coming back as Granulomatous Rosacea. A skin disorder now found to be associated with some Behcets patients. I researched rosacea and found it had been once coined "The Celtic Curse." A term I felt befitting all my ailments.
