Each light glistening on the water reflects the six years that have passed since my vision and mobility became impaired by Relapsing Polychondritis. Sometimes, the bright light of day is painful, and I enjoy the beach most at dusk. The waves are gentle, but unrelenting; they are part of a cycle that perseveres. I will persevere, also. I refuse to fade with the twilight. Starting now, before another day passes, I’ll become empowered by learning to navigate the waters of a rare disease.
