Each of these 24" x 30"angel wings are created out of plexiglass with copies of my own bone scans, radiographs and photographs of me in a multicolor collage. The perimeter of the wings read "Everyone wants happiness, no one wants pain, but you can't have a rainbow without a little rain". That's sort of my mantra as I suffer from Neonatal Onset Multisysten Inflammatory Disease (NOMID). I am definitely an optimist despite the burden of a chronically painful, potentially devastating disease. I can't change what I have; but I can work to bring change and awareness for others with rare and debilitating diseases. I graduate high school this year and am looking forward to stepping up to an even bigger platform to help spread awareness and look for new teatments.
