This is my brother Nicki. Nicki was born when I was 2 and 1/2 years old and was my best friend. When Nick was around 14 months old, he was diagnosed with Tay-Sachs Disease. TSD is a genetic disease that affects the central nervous system and is fatal usually before the age of 5. One of my favorite memories of Nick was his smile. I remember dancing around the room, playing the recorder and Nicki would just sit on the floor and laugh for hours. On July 12 2000, Nicki passed away with a huge smile on his face. My best friend may be gone, but his unforgettable smile lives on forever.
