This work represents all the times I hear people say, “but you don’t look sick”. On the inside I may be in pain or having a bad day because of Fabry Disease, but on the outside I put on a happy face to spare others from having to be around a “sick” person. So at times I feel like a clown, hidden behind make-up and smiles, but feeling misunderstood about how I’m really doing on the inside. I know many who feel this way. This is my depiction of that. It is a self portrait.
